Quick Update

I know I haven't posted for over a month so I thought I would do a quick update of what is going on in our home! I don't have pictures because my dad took the adapter for may computer and I don't know where it is...sorry...hopefully soon!

I finished another semester of nursing school and started MY LAST SEMESTER! It is so great to see the end coming! I am so sick of school right now and this semester is taking up a lot of my time already! In addition to my classes I have to work 120 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in their surgical department (ten 12 hour shifts for FREE!) and I also have to do 20 hours of community nursing somewhere and spend 20 hours of leadership (following an administrator). It will be a hard semester!

I was offered a job at Phoenix Children's Hospital working with the cancer patients. I really think it would be a great experience...I am still thinking about it though. It would be the hardest on Cadence if we moved. Easton is all for it though. Who knows where we will end up!

Cadence and Easton are doing really well. Cadence is loving 3rd grade and Boy Scouts. I am one of the den mothers for his troop which is also taking up my time but it is fun! Easton is really into riding his bike outside. He has training wheels still but loves it all the same!

My grandma Omama is still here visiting from Brazil which is great. I am so happy to be able to spend some time with her. It was a long trip for her 93 year old body but she is doing well!

Well, I hope I can post some pictures soon! I will try to post a little more often too.

Ouch!

A week ago Sunday, Cadence was playing in the backyard and cut his finger on some pruning shears. The cut was deep and of course....he has no insurance right now!!! I took him to the InstaCare and changed my mind when I got there...I remembered I have a friend who is able to give stitches so I called in a favor. He got 3 stitches in his little finger and he was so tough! What a trooper! I get to take the stitches out for him tomorrow I think. Thank goodness for friends!

Cadence is Baptized!

On Saturday August 30, 2008 Cadence James Humes was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

It was a great day full of emotion. I have never felt the spirit so strong as it was when he was standing in the baptismal font with his Grandpa Aidukaitis. I never imagined how great this day would be. Don't get me wrong....I have been so excited for a long time but it exceeded my expectations. This was the best day...maybe second to seeing him walk into the sealing room at the Salt Lake Temple when we were sealed together for eternity!

He was a little nervous. He kept asking how many people would be coming. I think most of the nerve came from knowing he was going to share his testimony after the baptism. He is such a great kid with a great spirit. I know that he will accomplish a lot in his lifetime!

After he was confirmed a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost he told me he felt the spirit too. He was given a beautiful blessing by his Grandpa Aidukaitis. I am so glad we are blessed with the priesthood in our family!

Cadence will go to his first Cub Scout meeting today! My little boy is growing up so fast!

Here is a short video of Cadence before his baptism...He was a little nervous...He normally has a lot to say!

My sweet Cadence!

Sasha Porter, Cadence's cousin, sang a beautiful song during the program titled "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" She is born to preform! What a cutie!

This is sweet Kyana one of Cadence's cousins.

Cadence....Sooo clean!

I love that they made him a welcome sign!

Cadence and Sarunus (Our Lithuanian friend staying with us.) As a quick side note, Sarunus is not LDS and doesn't seem interested but after the baptism he told my parents he felt something during the baptism! We will keep praying!

The Aidukaitis side of the family....The part that still lives in Utah! I realized how few of us there are left this day!

The Humes family.

After the program we went back to my home (my parent's home) and had refreshments. Everything was great!

It was a great day. I am so glad that Cadence and Easton wanted to come to my family here on earth! I love them so much!

I wish that the rest of my family could have shared this day with us. We love and miss you all!

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Cadence stared 3rd grade at Rock Canyon Elementary. This is the same school I attended and he is actually in the very same classroom that I was in for 3rd grade. He has a teacher that is new to Rock Canyon this year. Her name is Mrs Lee. He is really liking her. I think she will be great. Cadence seemed a little nervous meeting her for the first time because he knew nothing about her. He was so excited to start school again I hope he keeps in enthusiasm for the rest of the year!

What a handsome kid!!!

This is Cadence's self-portrait that he drew in class. It is hanging on the hall at his school. I think it is cute!

Easton is finishing his breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast and OJ!

Easton is still in preschool this year. He started a new class at his daycare. He is now a dolphin! He is so big and smart too. He was excited to move up to the big kid class! I wanted to make the kids a special breakfast and be there when Cadence left so I missed my first class at school and made them breakfast and took Cadence to school. I am so glad I did it. What a fun and exciting morning we had!

Cadence's 8th Birthday Party

I can't believe Cadence is 8! WOW time flies! He is so big and so smart. He started 3rd grade at Rock Canyon. He will be getting baptized this Saturday August 30th! It is so crazy to think he is old enough to get babtized! We are all super excited!

For Cadence's 8th birthday party we decided to go bowling. I just have not had enough time to plan a party with a bunch of activities. It turned out to be a bad weekend for a party. A few of his best friends were out of town on last minute summer vacations before school started. Cadence didn't want to wait so the party went on. The kids had a lot of fun and it was the easiest party I have ever done!

Cadence picked a army cake this year. He loved the transformer tank on the top!

Cadence only had Scott and Evan (and Easton) at the party this year. It was kind of nice to have so few kids this year although we missed to of his best friends David and Brian!

Cadence is already getting sick of the pictures!

Easton...my other big kid!

This is his friend Evan.....

This is his friend Scott. He goes to Scott's house almost every day after school...His mom is a saint!

All the boys!

We even had lunch while bowling!

The Sunday after his birthday we had the family over for some cake and ice cream!

I think he had a great birthday but the fun still isn't over....we still have the baptism to look forward to!

Hurry!....Catch Up!

OK...I am going to do a catch-up blog! Here are some pictures and videos from the summer that I have been meaning to post!

On the morning of the 4th of July my parents, my kids, and the Lithuanian family that came to stay with us went down to see the hot air balloons launch....In true Aidukaitis fashion we missed the launch but it was cool to see all the balloons anyways!

After the balloons we went home and got ready for the parade. My boys looked so cute and they had a lot of fun! We go every year.

After the parade my whole family went back to our house to have lunch. The Lithuanian family brought T-shirts to share with us...sooo nice of them! Alisa (my sister) and Vaughn (my brother-in-law) both liked the same shirt and started a tug-o-war over the shirt. My sister had all her weight pulling back on the shirt when Vaughn let go....Alisa went tumbling backwards and ended up breaking her radius and compacting all the wrist bones together.....I took her the the ER and we spent most of the rest of the afternoon in the hospital. She stayed an extra week with us (she was visiting from Arizona) to see the doctor again but she ended up having to go back to Arizona and have surgery on it anyways! How sad! It ruined her whole vacation!

Later that night we all went over the the Provo Temple grounds to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks! Alisa didn't make it...she was in too much pain, but the rest of us had fun!

This is a picture of Karla, my sister, and her adorable daughter Natalie. They were also visiting from Arizona. Mike, her husband was here too!

This is my little Easton. He is 4 1/2 years old! My baby is getting so big!

Here is a picture of me and my boys Cadence and Easton. Cadence is turning 8 today! Wow, I feel old!

This is a picture of the Lithuanian family that came to visit us. From left to right it is Loretta, Gretta, and Edmundus....I am not sure of the spelling of their names!?

This is just a bunch of us waiting for the fireworks to begin!

Cadence is such a goof! He is always trying to be funny or being a tease!

We normally do our own little fireworks after the big ones on the 4th but we decided to wait and do them on the 5th at my sister Amy's home. It worked out really well. It was also my niece Sasha's birthday!

I think it was the next weekend we went camping at what I know as "Aspen Grove Camp Ground" but they changed the name. We would always go camping here as a family when I was little. I always LOVED it and still do! It is a campground just up above Sundance in Provo Canyon.
There were a scary amount of caterpillars at the campsite this year! The kids started loading Easton up with them. I cant believe how many there were. They were everywhere and literally dropping from the sky!

My parents and my kids and I went to the concert on the lawn down at the park on 5th North and 5th West. We used to go to this on Sundays when I was little too. I loved it. At the end they all march around the park to music still, just like when I was little!

Well....that is it for now. I hope I will post some more pictures soon! It has been a really busy but fun summer so far! As I said, It is Cadence's birthday today so I will post some pictures of that as soon as I can!
