Cadence's New Glasses!

Cadence got his new glasses. He actually really needed them! I feel bad that I didn't know how bad his eyes are. I guess I don't think about needing glasses since I have never needed them. He has 20/80 vision! He looks so grown up in his glasses. He was so excited to get them. We had to wait about a week to get them. It is fun to see him and here him tell me what he can see now!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

On Friday, the day before Halloween, the kids had Halloween parties and a Halloween parade at their school. Easton even got to go on a field trip to one of the pumpkin patches here. He had a ton of fun. Each kindergarten class made their own Halloween t-shirts. Easton's class did a tie-dye with hand prints for a spider. They were super cute!
This is Easton participating in a class activity before the parade.

Easton's class lined up waiting for their turn to join the parade.

Here is Cadence in the halls during the parade.

Cadence's class had a fun party too!

Here is Cadence with some of his friends at school. I didn't have to ask for them to get in the picture...The were super eager to get their photo taken with Cadence!

On Halloween we went over to Lee and Mandy's to trick-or-treat with them and join their old neighborhood's Halloween block party.
Cadence was the ghost from the movie "Scream" He has never seen the movie but he liked the bleeding face. Easton was the new version of GI Joe. He had never seen the movie either but he liked the mask and muscles!

Here is my brother Lee. He is a mechanic :)
Here is my niece Kylee and her husband who dressed up like Kylee!
Here is my niece Madison (right) and her friend. They are the umpa lumpas! Great costumes!
This is my sister-in-law Mandy who is a flight attendant.
My nephew Adam who is Michael Jackson.
It was a fun Halloween! It was nice that it wasn't freezing like it always is in Utah!

Trip to Utah

I had a few days off of work so I decided to go to Utah to visit my family and friends. It was way too much driving and not enough visiting. I am not sure why but I didn't take very many pictures in Utah. We got to see my parents new house which was fun. It is still weird that they don't live in their old house on Timpview Drive anymore! It was fun to see how happy the new house makes my parents! It is a very pretty house with a great view and a huge park in the back yard! It is great!
On the way up to Utah we stopped in Las Vegas to make the trip a little easier on all of us. We stayed in the Riviera hotel on the way up. It was cheap and had a bed so it was perfect!

We stopped by the M&M store in Las Vegas where the kids and I watched their cute 3D movie that is FREE!

On Sunday, Jenni invited us over for dinner. She cooked roast with potatoes and vegetables. It was delicious! Thanks Jenni!

I was able to go and visit my Grandma. It was so good to see her!

On the way home we stoped in Las Vegas again and stayed at the Excalibur Hotel.

We walked around a bit but it was really really windy and kind of cold.

We saw a komodo dragon.

We saw the shark exhibit at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. We got to pet stingrays and some weird type of crab!

We stopped for a few minutes at the Hover Dam.

It was a fund trip but I hope next time we can fly!

First Day of School!

Today was the first day of school for the boys. Cadence is in 4th grade and Easton is in kindergarten! I can't believe it! I especially can't believe that my baby Easton is in KINDERGARTEN! What the freak!?! He kept telling me "Can you believe that I am going to kindergarten in elementary school?" What a cutie!

Easton was so excited last night it took him forever to fall asleep. I went in to check on him and this is how I found him! He had taken out all his school supplies and surrounded himself with them! What a CUTE CUTE kid! I could just bite him he is so cute! I love him so much!

Easton is all ready to go! He is in his new outfit. I felt bad because I ordered his backpack from overstock.com and it hasn't arrived yet so he had to use my old, worn-out backpack. He still looked great though!

Cadence looks awsome in his new outfit that he got from his Grandma and Grandpa Humes for his birthday! He is also wearing the backpack and shoes he got from Aunt Karla and Uncle Mike! He is so big and tall! I love him so much! He was getting annoyed with me because I wanted to take pictures and walk him to his classroom. He ended up walking to his classroom by himself because he didn't want to wait for me....I think he was a little embarrassed too! He is so grown-up!

I did get a chance to walk Easton to his class. He sat right down and got working on his first assignment! I couldn't help but tear up!

He looks so cute! He was so excited because he got a new watch to wear to school. He is so big!
I can't wait to hear about their first day! I hope they have a great day! Now I have to figure out what to do all day with out them! I guess I can start by cleaning up the house. It is a mess after all the partying we did this weekend for Cadence's birthday!

Happy 9th Birthday Cadence!

Cadence turned 9 on Saturday! Wow he is getting so big! He is such a great kid. He is so helpful and loving. I couldn't ask for a better kid! I am also so blessed because he get along really well with his little brother Easton. I remember lying in bed with Cadence watching him sleep when he was first born. I remember thinking that I didn't want him to get to be 6 months old because then he wouldn't be a baby anymore! Despite what Cadence thinks, he will ALWAYS be my baby!
We had two parties for him on Saturday. We had a friend party in the afternoon. The party went really well and was a lot of fun for the kids.

Cadence is 9!

First the kids made tornado bottles.

Next, we made marshmallow guns! These were a big hit! The kids tried to hit targets and had a "war" at the end of the party.

Here are the troops!
Next we did the pinata. Cadence broke the pinata stick on the first hit! You can see the broken piece flying in this picture!
We had cake and ice cream next.

Later that evening we had a family party. My brother and two sisters came with their families to celebrate! We have a ton of extra cake!

Cadence got an air soft gun for his birthday. This took a lot of begging on his part but he LOVES it! Him and his cousin Adam shot their guns every chance they got! Goggles are a must!

Happy Birthday Cadence! I love you!
