On Saturday August 30, 2008 Cadence James Humes was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!
It was a great day full of emotion. I have never felt the spirit so strong as it was when he was standing in the baptismal font with his Grandpa Aidukaitis. I never imagined how great this day would be. Don't get me wrong....I have been so excited for a long time but it exceeded my expectations. This was the best day...maybe second to seeing him walk into the sealing room at the Salt Lake Temple when we were sealed together for eternity!
He was a little nervous. He kept asking how many people would be coming. I think most of the nerve came from knowing he was going to share his testimony after the baptism. He is such a great kid with a great spirit. I know that he will accomplish a lot in his lifetime!
After he was confirmed a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost he told me he felt the spirit too. He was given a beautiful blessing by his Grandpa Aidukaitis. I am so glad we are blessed with the priesthood in our family!
Cadence will go to his first Cub Scout meeting today! My little boy is growing up so fast!
Here is a short video of Cadence before his baptism...He was a little nervous...He normally has a lot to say!

Cadence and Sarunus (Our Lithuanian friend staying with us.) As a quick side note, Sarunus is not LDS and doesn't seem interested but after the baptism he told my parents he felt something during the baptism! We will keep praying!

This is the whole family Aidukaitis and Humes family (and Bishop Smith in the back).
The Aidukaitis side of the family....The part that still lives in Utah! I realized how few of us there are left this day!
The Humes family.
After the program we went back to my home (my parent's home) and had refreshments. Everything was great!
It was a great day. I am so glad that Cadence and Easton wanted to come to my family here on earth! I love them so much!
I wish that the rest of my family could have shared this day with us. We love and miss you all!

That was a really great program...especially the music! Just kidding! But, thanks for asking Sasha to sing. I love to see her developing that talent. Cadence is a such a great boy. I am glad I have such an awesome nephew!
Congratulations Cadence! Sounds like he had a wonderful day.
I am SO sad I wasn't there. It sounds like you had a wonderful day. I can only imagine how emotional it will be when Natalie is baptized! Give Cadence a big hug from us "Zonies". I wish we were closer to you all - I guess you will just have to move down here! :)
PS - I have a picture of all the cousins from the 4th of July on my laptop screen, and Natalie points out Cadence and Easton - saying their names perfectly! It's so cute!
